Dr. Stephen Dolan

Hailing from Co. Kildare in Ireland, Stephen received his BS in Biological & Biomedical Sciences (2012), and then his PhD in Microbiology (Doyle Lab, 2016) from Maynooth University. He then secured a Herchel Smith Research Fellowship hosted in the Welch Lab at the University of Cambridge (2016-2021) before moving to the Whiteley Lab at Georgia Tech as a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Fellow in 2021. Stephen joined the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2023. His lab is located within the Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center (EPIC).

In his spare time, Stephen enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, tennis, hiking, watching movies/tv series, listening to music, and traveling.
