Deeya Patel

Deeya is a graduate of Clemson University (2023) with a BS in Genetics and minors in Biochemistry and Biological Sciences. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Clemson. She is interested in researching the biochemical mechanisms microbial and fungal pathogens use during infection and likes to keep up with the various cell pathophysiologies of emerging infectious diseases. After her academic endeavors, Deeya aspires to be a physician and continue research on eukaryotic pathogens. 

Outside of the lab, Deeya enjoys traveling, photography, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
